Awareness camp on PM Vishwakarma Scheme held

The Department of Industries, Chandigarh, in collaboration with MSME-DFO, Ludhiana, organised a one-day awareness camp under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme at the Sector-49 Community Centre here yesterday.

The initiative aimed to enhance the outreach and impact of the scheme, encouraging wider community participation and empowering traditional artisans by providing them financial assistance, skill development opportunities and access to modern tools and technologies.

The camp was graced by representatives from various departments and institutions, who interacted with participants and provided expert insights into different components of the scheme, including skill training, loan disbursement, toolkit distribution, digital transactions, marketing and branding of products and awareness about other Government of India schemes.

More than 80 registered PM Vishwakarma artisans participated in the event. Queries related to training, stipends and other scheme benefits were also addressed during the session.

The programme commenced with an inaugural session on the introduction and awareness of the scheme, followed by sessions on training and loan components, digital incentives, marketing & branding and awareness about other government schemes. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session and a vote of thanks by the Department of Industries.

The camp proved highly beneficial for artisans and skilled workers, providing them with detailed information about the scheme’s benefits, registration process and support mechanisms.
