Chandigarh, June 25

Ayaan Garg of Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, won the boys’ title, while Kamya Kumari of Sacred Heart Convent School, Sector 26, bagged the girls’ title on the concluding day of the Chandigarh Schools U-15 Rapid Chess Selection Tournament today.

The championship was organised by the Chandigarh Chess Association, under the ages of the All-India Chess Federation. A total of 47 boys and 17 girls participated in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Ayaan, along with Ekaaksha Partap Singh Negi, Anuj Bhatt, Kamya and Shereen Makroo, has been selected to visit Chennai to witness the 44th Chess Olympiad, in which players from a total of 188 countries will take part.
