Ayaan settles for third spot in chess tourney

Ayaan Garg, a student of Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, claimed third position in the 12th National Amateur Chess Championship Below-2300 (Open) at Bodh Gaya, Bihar.

Garg remained undefeated throughout the tournament, scoring an impressive seven points out of nine, finishing with the same score as the top two players. However, due to the tournament’s tie-break system, he was awarded the third place. The championship featured players from 17 states across India.

Strawberry Fields director Atul Khanna and Garg’s trainer Naveen Bansal congratulated him. — TNS
