UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore on Saturday cancelled his visit to a photo exhibition at the Rose Garden-Sector 17 underpass in view of the Covid scare. The Administrator was to inaugurate the exhibition of photojournalists being organised by the Chandigarh Press Club. He has restricted his engagements outside the Raj Bhawan as a precautionary measure.

Library shut till further notice

The British Council has announced that its libraries in New Delhi, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Pune and Bengaluru will remain closed until further notice.

Jhankaar postponed till next month

Chetan Chaudhary, president, Panjab University Campus Students Council (PUCSC), on Friday said Jhankaar-2020 has been postponed. “Due to the Covid threat, we unfortunately have to reschedule Jhankaar-2020. It is postponed till next month. We’ll update you with exact dates soon,” he said.

Musical-dance event deferred

The weeklong golden jubilee celebrations of the All India Bhaskar Rao Nritya and Sangeet Sammelan, scheduled to be held at Tagore Theatre from March 16, has been postponed in view of the Covid scare. Addressing a press conference at the Chandigarh Press Club, Shobha Koser, registrar, and Sajal Koser, secretary, Pracheen Kala Kedra, said the event was scheduled to feature 17 maestros of national and international eminence.
