A local court here has dismissed the bail application of an accused, Adil Khan, who was arrested on the charge of stealing a scooter. He was arrested on April 12 on a woman’s complaint.

The complainant told the police that she visited the Elante mall for shopping and parked her scooter in front of Plot No. 27, MW Market. When she came back after shopping, she did not find her scooter at that place.

During investigation, the police found CCTV footage in which Adil was seen taking away the complainant’s scooter.

After hearing the arguments, the court said it was the settled law that mere long custody did not make the accused entitled to the concession of bail.

It is clear that the applicant is booked in many cases of the similar nature at different police stations. In these circumstances, this court has not found any good ground to allow the application. Accordingly, his bail application is dismissed, the court said.
