Chandigarh Administrator Banwari Lal Purohit to visit dumping ground on January 14

Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Banwari Lal Purohit will inspect the garbage dumping ground and the waste processing plant on Friday, said Mayor Sarabjit Kaur.

“Today, we got the confirmation that he will come on Friday,” she said.

The Mayor had yesterday met him with the request to inspect the site.

She said it was the main reason behind the city slipping to the 66th rank in the swachhta rankings.

Purohit had assured her that the Administration would do the needful to provide relief to the city from the garbage dump.

At present, the Municipal Corporation is in the process of setting up a new technology at the waste processing plant. Bio-mining of the waste at the dumping ground is already on.
