Chandigarh, July 12
The UT police today arrested Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association president Vikas Malik, who has been accused of assaulting a lawyer on the High Court complex. Malik was booked in the case on July 1 at the Sector 3 police station. Attempt-to-murder charge was added to the case later.
The victim, Ranjeet Singh, along with a court clerk, was delivering court summons to Malik in connection with a writ petition when the incident occurred. Ranjeet was allegedly assaulted by Malik and his associates. He suffered injuries and was taken to the GMSH-16.
Besides Malik, Kunal Muthreja and Dinesh Jangra have been named in the FIR.
