Bar council suspends licence of both lawyers
A three-member disciplinary committee of the Bar council has suspended the licences of advocates Ravneet Kaur and Simranjit Singh Blassi with immediate effect. They are facing allegations of attacking Bar association members.
The Bar association in the notice said the woman advocate entered the executive office of the association with Blassi and allegedly misbehaved with the secretary and others.
After discussing the matter and pursuing the records, the committee comprising CM Munjal, chairman, Raj Kumar Chauhaan and Harpreet Singh Multani said that this action as well as many past actions of both advocates amounted to scandalising the judicial system as we had been told that they had levelled unfounded allegations against the legal community and openly abused the members of the Bar.
The committee also issued the notices to both for September 19. They have been restrained from appearing in any court or authority under the law as an advocate.
