Ropar, January 22
The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has decided to set up an Employees’ Family Support Fund to provide immediate relief to kin in case of death of an employee during service period.
The BBMB’ Financial Adviser and Chief Accounts Officer, Rajinder Kumar, said the modalities for the fund were in a final stage and relief would be provided to the bereaved families from last year, retrospectively.
He said employees working on different projects of the BBMB performed their duties under hazardous conditions, and in case of any casualty on duty, the members of the victim’s family would be given Rs 5 lakh from the fund. In case of natural death of an employee during service period, his or her family would get Rs 1 lakh, he added.
The Financial Adviser said the kin of all BBMB employees (except those who are re-employed after retirement or engaged from outsource agencies) would be given relief from this fund. — TNS
