Beautification of markets soon: Chandigarh MC Commissioner

Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Amit Kumar has assured that the municipal corporation will start the beautification of the markets soon. The assurance was given to a delegation of the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal, which met the Commissioner today for resolving various issues concerning the markets of Chandigarh.

Sanjiv Chadha, president of the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal, said that officials concerned assured them that all necessary steps would be taken soon to address these issues. Chadha said that the markets needed a facelift and conditions of the inner roads were also not good in some markets

The other issues which were discussed included extension of the property tax submission deadline, convenient parking solutions, rationalised water and garbage collection, removal of unauthorised vendors and beautification and upgrading of sector markets

The Chandigarh Beopar Mandal delegation emphasised the importance of resolving these issues to contribute to the country’s GDP growth. Other members who attended the meeting included Charanjiv Singh Chairman, Ravikant Sharma, former Mayor-cum-chairman, MC coordination committee, along with Bharat Bhushan Kapila, adviser to the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal.
