Bhupinder Singh of Panchkula won the Chess Titans - One Day Open Chess Championship held at GMADA Sports Complex, Sector 78. He scored 5.5 points after six rounds to win the title.

Priyanka Vashisht of Ludhiana won the women’s title by scoring five points from five rounds. Ekansh Pratap Singh Negi won the boys’ U-15 title, while Charvi Goyal became the champion in the girls’ U-15 category.

In the boys’ U-11 category, Atharv Singh Negi got first position while Ojaswee Chaurahi grabbed the women’s title. Ishan Saha stood first in the boys’ U-7 category, while Triman Kaur Gill won the title in the women’s category.

As many as 337 participants from Chandigarh Tricity, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Uttarakhand participated. With a total prize money of Rs 62,000, the tournament was inaugurated by mental conditioning coach Dr Amit Bhattacharjee. The prize

distribution ceremony was presided over by Vineet Verma, Member, Punjab Trade Commission.
