Biker killed in Mohali road mishap

Passersby said the victim was crushed under the truck and was dragged for some distance

The accident took place on the Kharar-Landran.

A 43-year-old biker died after being hit by a truck near a bank on the Kharar-Landran road this afternoon. The victim, Arun Kumar Garg, was a mechanic by profession. His brother Ashwani Kumar sustained injuries in the accident. Passersby said the victim was crushed under the truck and was dragged for some distance.

Three persons, meanwhile, were injured when the car they were travelling in was hit by a pick-up truck head-on on Zirakpur flyover near the local bus stand around 8 pm. Eyewitnesses said the speeding truck jumped over the divider and hit a sedan head on.

The trio sustained serious injuries and were rushed to GMCH-32, where they are undergoing treatment. The debris was later cleared to ensure unhindered movement of vehicles. a
