Bikers snatch earrings of elderly woman

Two unidentified bike-borne youths snatched the earrings of an elderly woman in Green Park near Radha Krishan Temple in Phase 2 here today.

The victim, Balwinder Kaur, was taking an evening walk when two youths wearing helmets arrived there around 5 pm. One of them kept standing near the bike outside the park, while the other walked up to the woman and snatched her earrings. The snatchers sped away with the earrings, leaving the woman injured.

Balwinder Kaur said she was taking a walk along with other woman, who stopped some distance away. Finding a chance, the snatchers targeted her.

Meanwhile, local residents called the PCR, after which a police team visited the spot and began an investigation. The residents said law and order situation in the area was deteriorating day by day.

Hit-and-run

A middle-aged woman was injured after a speeding car bearing a Delhi registration number hit her from behind. The victim was returning home after picking her child from school. She was taken to a private hospital. The police are investigating the matter.
