In a firm move to curb public nuisance and enforce traffic discipline, the Panchkula police have intensified action against bikers violating rules and disturbing peace by making loud firecracker-like sounds with modified silencers of their Bullet motorcycles.
Following a rise in complaints from citizens about reckless bikers causing disturbances, Police Commissioner Rakesh Kumar Arya directed strict enforcement. Acting on these orders, Sub-Inspector Narendra Kumar, in charge of Surajpur traffic unit, took swift action against two bikers in the Kalka main market area.
One of the motorcycles was impounded, and a hefty challan of ₹32,500 was issued for multiple violations — including riding without a silencer and generating loud explosive sounds from the bike. The second rider was fined ₹10,500 for similar offenses.
Commissioner Arya emphasised that such disruptive behaviour would not be tolerated, and strict measures would continue.
