Chandigarh, July 23
The Chandigarh BJP’s economic cell today welcomed the first budget of the BJP-led NDA government, hailing it as a “development-oriented” which caters to all sections of society.
In a press statement, Jatinder Pal Malhotra, city BJP president, said, “This is a visionary budget that prioritises infrastructure development, skill enhancement for youngsters, and job creation. It’s an expenditure-based budget that will propel India towards a prosperous future.”
“This will be the main driver of growth and development in India. The budget’s emphasis on skill enhancement will ensure that our youth are equipped with the skills needed to thrive in the modern economy,” he added.
The city unit of Congress and AAP today criticised the BJP-led NDA government for the 2024-25 budget.
In a press statement, the Congress said the union budget is lacklustre, directionless and fails to address the key issues of unemployment and inflation.
