BJP Chandigarh state president Jatinder Pal Malhotra today announced the launch of the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan’ in Chandigarh.

Addressing a press conference, Malhotra said the flagship campaign of the BJP was launched in New Delhi on September 25 and will continue for 90 days. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, the initiative seeks to rekindle the spirit of self-reliance and encourage citizens to use Indian-made products.

The mission carries forward the message of ‘Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar-Ghar Swadeshi,’ urging people to adopt, promote and take pride in indigenous goods and services.

Malhotra stressed that the campaign was “not merely an economic initiative but a social and cultural movement that seeks to strengthen India’s foundation of self-confidence and local empowerment”.

The campaign began on September 25, the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, and will conclude on December 25, the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee — symbolically linking two visionaries whose ideas of integral humanism and good governance continue to guide the nation’s progress.

During the campaign, programmes will be organised at the state, district, mandal and booth levels, with particular emphasis on the participation of women and youth. Public outreach activities will include Swadeshi Melas and exhibitions of MSME and local products, essay and quiz competitions in schools and colleges, conferences of traders and entrepreneurs, as well as youth-centred events such as signature drives, innovation talks and reels competitions. ‘Swadeshi Rath Yatras’, ‘Prabhat Pheris’ and cultural activities like street plays and art contests will also be held.

State general secretary Ramvir Bhatti, convenor of the campaign, said BJP Chandigarh’s grassroots karyakartas would “actively champion the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan’, promoting and propagating Swadeshi products and initiatives”.
