Chandigarh: The local unit of the BJP on Saturday protested against the Chandigarh Administration’s demolition drive against unauthorised constructions at Raipur Khurd village. MC councillor Harjeet Singh, BJP state general secretary Hukum Chand, councillor Manoj Sonkar, BJP state secretary Shashi Shankar Tiwari, district president Ravi Rawat were among others who joined the protest. They were later taken to Mani Majra police station and were later released in the afternoon. TNS

New ABVP team for PU campus

Chandigarh: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, PU, has formed a new campus team for the academic session 2024-25. Parvindra Singh Negi was appointed as president and Dhruvika as secretary. Ashish Sharma, Muskan, Shashwat Khurana, Vishal Malik, Muskan Nehra, Prince Thakur, Aditya Sura, Yash Kapasiya and Gaurav Veer Singh Sohal were appointed as vice-presidents while Narender Bhardwaj, Radhika Sharma, Dheeraj Singla, Niharika, Aarav Raghuvanshi, Aankith Bhidan and Azad Singh were appointed as joint secretaries. 130 examined at health camp

Chandigarh:The Chandigarh Chemists Association organised the second edition of a free health check-up camp at the Community Centre in Sector 46 on Saturday. About 130 persons attended the camp. The event was supported by area councillor Gurpreet Singh Gabi and Market Welfare Association, Sector 46.
