Book exhibition big draw at HC
A two-day book exhibition organised by Adara Janchetna, in collaboration with the Punjab Students Union (Lalkar), commenced today at the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The event received an overwhelming response, especially from lawyers.
The exhibition features writings and biographies of revolutionaries, progressive literature and books on social issues, along with children’s books. Punjabi works such as Bhubbal, Paash, Mera Dagistan, Pehla Adhyapak and Gorky’s stories were highly appreciated.
Hindi books by Rahul Sankrityayan and Premchand, as well as English classics like Tolstoy’s War and Peace and Chekhov’s stories attracted the readers.
Visitors praised the initiative, calling it a necessary effort in times of intellectual decline. Many were pleasantly surprised by the affordable prices and lauded Adara Janchetna’s commitment to spreading progressive ideas through inexpensive literature.
The exhibition will continue tomorrow at Gate No. 4 of the High Court from 10 am to 5 pm. The organisers encourage readers to attend and explore the diverse collection on display.
