Mohali: Brothers among three caught with 4.5-kg opium
The police arrested three UP-based peddlers and recovered 4.5 kg of opium and Rs 1.50 lakh from them during a checking at Kambala village today.
The supsects, Moradabad resident Ravi Kumar and Bareilly residents Vishnu and Varjesh, both brothers, were booked in a case under the NDPS Act at the Sohana police station.
CIA staff incharge Harminder Singh said, “The suspects were staying at a PG accommodation for some time.”
In another case, a chain snatcher was arrested with a stolen bike used in executing the crime. Patiala resident Baljeet Kaur had lodged a complaint on August 28 that a miscreant, Vimlesh of Lucknow, snatched her gold chain. He was held later. However, his accomplice Satish of Jagatpura is absconding. DSP City-2 Harsimran Singh Bal said a case was registered at the Sohana police station.”
