A Delhi resident — Ravinder Kumar — has filed a complaint with the police against a builder for duping him of Rs 1.25 crore on the pretext of providing him with an apartment in Kalka.

A case has been filed against Ireo Fiveriver Pvt Ltd and its former directors under Sections 406, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC. The complainant said he had booked a plot in 2010 and signed an agreement in July 2011 for the company’s residential project located in the Pinjore-Kalka urban complex. According to the police, the complainant had bought the plot for Rs 1.25 crore, but the company failed to deliver is and was subsequently shut down. — TNS
