ASI Zile Singh of the Chandimandir police station said, “The postmortem was conducted at the Civil Hospital in Sector 6. Thereafter, the body was handed over to the victim’s family.”

Freely roaming animals are a massive problem in the city with the Municipal Corporation having failed to arrest the menace. A communication was recently sent by the civic body to Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) to allow it to construct two temporary cowsheds near the Ghaggar area and one near the slaughterhouse.

As per the MC survey, there are around 7,000 stray animals in Panchkula.
