Burglar held for series of break-ins, thefts in Panchkula
The police’s Crime Branch arrested a man for his alleged involvement in multiple burglaries across the city.
As per the police, the suspect has three separate cases of residential burglary registered against him at different police stations. In the particular case being probed, Jyoti Ram, a resident of Rathpur, Pinjore, lodged a complaint stating that he had locked his house and gone to visit his daughter in Naraingarh on April 25. Upon returning home three days later, he discovered that the lock had been broken, and two gas cylinders, a gas stove, and Rs 20,000 in cash had been stolen from his home.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered at the Pinjore Police Station and an investigation was launched.
During the investigation, acting on a tip-off, the Sector-19 Crime Branch team led by ACP Arvind Kamboj conducted a raid in the Surajpur Adda area and successfully arrested the accused. The suspect has been identified as Manish Arora, a resident of Rathpur Colony, Pinjore. Two stolen gas cylinders have been recovered from his possession.
The accused was produced before the court today and has been sent to one-day police remand. During the remand period, the police will attempt to recover the remaining stolen items and also investigate the burglar’s involvement in other theft cases.
