Burglars strike at five houses in Sector 30

Five houses were burgled in Sector 30 on Thursday night. The thieves targeted locked homes across the sector.

The police investigation revealed that three suspects had arrived there on a motorcycle.

Ishwar Dutt Sharma, who is away to Prayagraj, was informed about the theft at his house by his neighbours. The thieves ransacked his house and took away valuables.

Another house, which usually remains locked, was also broken into. Gold and silver jewellery were stolen from a house in the Labour Colony.

The thieves bolted the doors of adjoining houses from the outside while stealing goods. They removed bulbs from outside a residence before breaking into it.

The thefts came to light in the morning and the police were informed. Teams from the police and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) visited the houses and initiated an investigation. The CCTV footage of the area was scrutinised. It revealed that the suspects had spent several hours in the sector before leaving early in the morning.

Jewellery stolen from houses in sec 41

Dinesh Gill, a Sector 41 resident, reported that gold and diamond jewellery worth several lakhs, and Rs 10,000 were stolen from his house on Thursday. Thieves also made off with gold jewellery and Rs 25,000 from another house in the area.
