An eco-artistry workshop was organised at Bhagindi village in Mohali. The workshop was envisaged to provide a platform to rural women to transform waste plastic bottles into artistic eco-friendly planters. This unique initiative was undertaken by two teachers — Dr Jaspreet Kaur Sembi from Panjab University’s Department of Botany, and Dr Gaurav Gaur from PU’s Centre for Social Work. It aimed at addressing the pressing issue of plastic pollution and empowering women in rural communities by imparting creative skillsets.

The workshop is in a series through a project sanctioned by the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Chandigarh under a central programme. The initiative is the brainchild of Dr Jaspreet Kaur.
