Chandigarh varsity starts ‘Udaan’
Mohali: Chandigarh University claims to become the first Indian institution to help Indian youth repatriated from the USA. Rajya Sabha MP and Chandigarh University Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu announced the launch of a rehabilitation programme “Udaan” for providing free counselling, career mapping, higher education opportunities, skill development, re-skilling courses and suitable employment opportunities for youth repatriated from the USA in local industries. “The repatriated youth can register through dedicated website for this rehabilitation programme “Udaan”. Besides counselling, mapping will also be done to assess their skill levels to provide them free of cost education courses and enhance their job opportunities,” said Sandhu.
Chandigarh Group of Colleges signs MoU with Japanese firm
Mohali: Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Jhanjeri, entered into a partnership with an international Japanese company. Under the agreement with Forum Engineering Company, college students will be able to get direct job opportunities in engineering and technology companies of Japan. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Tsusomu Sato, president and CEO, Forum Engineering, Japan, and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, CGC.”
Conference on trends in management
Mohali: The Chandigarh Business School of Administration (CBSA), CGC, Landran, organised a two-day international conference on "Shaping the future global trends in management paradigms 2025 (ICSFMP 2025)". The conference was attended by more than 300 students, research scholars, academicians and industry professionals. A major highlight of day one of the event was the release of the conference book along with selected research paper submissions that showcased academic excellence, innovation and creativity in emerging management paradigms. As many 86 papers were selected.
Sector 46 college organises competitions
Chandigarh: The Library Outreach Society of the Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46, organised library-related competitions that included essay writing, slogan writing, collage making, book mark making and book cover making. The college principal urged students to continue exploring vast resources available in the library and develop a love for reading and learning.
Dental check-up camp at Dera Bassi college
Mohali: Sri Sukhmani Dental College and Hospital (SSDCH), Dera Bassi, organised a free dental check-up and awareness camp to commemorate Maha Shivratri. The camp was held under the supervision of Dr Tanvi Bhardwaj and featured oral health promotion activities, including awareness talks, brushing technique demonstrations and counselling.
