The NSS Cell of Government College of Education, Sector 20, organised a program to celebrate “HarGharTiranga” as part of Independence Day celebrations. Faculty members, staff, and students from the MEd, PGDGC, and BEd programs participated in the event. NSS volunteers welcomed the principal, faculty members, fellow students, and other employees. Dean Dr AK Srivastava highlighted the struggle of freedom fighters for the independence of the country. A solemn oath-taking ceremony was held.
Induction programme
SVKM’s NMIMS School of Law (SOL) conducted a week-long offline and online orientation programme for the new batches of BA LLB (Hons) and BBA LLB (Hons) students. The orientation was attended by legal and academic dignitaries, the college’s director and associate dean, faculty members, the placement team, the counselling team, the administrative staff, and fresher students. Director and associate dean, Prof (Dr) Rashmi K Nagpal interacted with the students. It was followed by special addresses by the Justice Hari Pal Verma, Lokayukta, Haryana, and Justice Paramjit Singh Dhaliwal, former Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Orientation programme
An orientation programme was organised at the Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46, to interact with the first-year students of BA/BCOM/BBA/BCA about various academic activities at Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46. Professor JK Sehgal, principal, encouraged them to be responsible citizens.
College holds green drive
The Swachh Bharat Mission of Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50, launched a sapling plantation drive. Dr Manjit Kaur (principal) highlighted the drive as part of the college’s broader environmental strategy, which includes waste management and water conservation. The college also held workshops on tree care and maintenance and praised the initiative as a significant step towards sustainability
Saplings planted
A sapling plantation drive was held at the campus of Sri Sukhmani Group of Institutions in Dera Bassi. A total of 70 saplings of diverse species were planted. The objective of the event was to enhance the green cover in the region and encourage sustainable practices and environmental stewardship among the local community.
