Candidates complain of server glitch during JEE Advance exam at CU
Scores of JEE Advance (IIT) candidates had a harrowing time at an examination centre in B3 Block of Chandigarh University, Gharuan, as the test was delayed by one hour due to an alleged server glitch.
Harried students complained that the exam started at 10 am instead of 9 am and finished at 1 pm instead of 12 pm. No extension for the second part of the exam, scheduled to be held from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm, was given. “Around 10 students were there at the exam centre till 1.30 pm. Students came out crying as they buckled under the pressure,” said a parent of a candidate.
All students entered the hall at 8.30 am but were under immerse pressure after the delay, said some of the candidates.
CU officials said a server glitch led to the delay, with a varsity spokesperson adding, “TCS officials were there to resolve the issue. Extra time was given to every student. There were three centres in the varsity but this problem was encountered in one centre only.”
In total, around 600 candidates appeared for the online test at CU.
TCS zonal operation manager Supinder Sodhi, meanwhile, said all candidates got the full 80 minutes time to complete the exam.
Other examination centres for the test included the Tejas Exam Centre, Sec 82, Doaba College, KhararCGC College Landran, Sukhmani college, Dera Bassi among others.
