The i20 car in which unknown persons had allegedly stalked and teased an 18-year-old girl returning to her PG accommodation in Sector 34 had been sold to a fourth buyer. The police have identified the car owner, who is at large.

Sources said the car was registered at an address in Ludhiana. However, the car was further sold thrice.

The victim was returning to her PG accommodation from the market on Sunday evening when the suspects started following her in the car. They passed lewd comments at the victim. However, she ignored them and kept walking.

Sources said the suspects then stopped the car and tried to pull the victim. However, she stepped back.

A youth riding an Activa stopped and tried to intervene. However, the suspects thrashed him and damaged his scooter.

The police said passersby gathered at the spot following which the suspects fled from there.
