The Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) has cautioned traders against imposters.

Last evening, a person named Balwinder Singh, pretending to be an employee of the Excise and Taxation Department, allegedly threatened traders at the Burail market complex and demanded goods free of cost, the CBM stated.

Shopkeepers informed Baljinder Gujral, president of the Keshoram Complex Welfare Association, about the issue. He rushed to the market complex and got hold of the imposter and handed him over to the police, it added.

The CBM appealed to all the presidents of the Sector markets to make their members aware about such instances so that no such event is repeated in any other market.
