A central team led by Vikas Dogra, Director, Union Ministry of Heavy Industry, visited villages under Bassi Pathana, Sirhind and Khamano blocks to inspect various works being done by the district administration to save groundwater.

While interacting with the villagers, Vikas Dogra appealed to the people that every citizen of every age group needs to contribute to save water, the precious resource of nature. He said that Gram Panchayats should implement maximum projects to save water. He also took suggestions from the people.

While reviewing the works done in Fatehgarh Sahib district under Jal Shakti Abhiyan, he inspected the underground pipeline work in village Shahzadpur of block Bassi Pathana, pond renovation project in village Chanarthal Kalan and Nabipur of block Sirhind and recharge pit in village Ratto of block Khamanon. He said that such awareness visits will be continued in future also to save ground water.
