Chadha elected president of traders’ body
Sanjiv Chadha has been elected the new president of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM). He defeated former president Anil Vohra by a significant margin of 88 votes in the elections.
The voting took place at the Sector 21 community centre. As many as 360 votes were polled, roughly 98% of the total members of the body. Chadha bagged 224 to win the election.
The election committee, led by chairman Satpal Gupta, ensured a smooth and fair election process. The committee consisted of prominent members, including Charanjiv Singh, the outgoing president, Diwakar Sahoonja, former president, and Prashotam Mahajan, vice-chairman.
Charanjiv had served the CBM for the maximum seven terms. Due to constitutional limitations, he was ineligible to contest in the current election.
