After the publication of the news item in these columns regarding a Warehousing Corporation official returning bribe money, the department put the manager under suspension and marked an inquiry against him.
Warehousing Corporation DM HS Aulakh said after the publication of the news item, the head office marked a departmental inquiry on the manager, Kulwinder Singh. He added that Kulwinder has been suspended until the inquiry is done. He said that the matter was resolved amicably as the misunderstandings between Kulwinder and commission agents were resolved.
It is worth mentioning that the manager of Punjab Warehouse Corporation posted at Chanarthal grain market, Kulwinder Singh, allegedly took a bribe of Rs. 3.5 lakh from the commission agents. The agents brought the matter to Sirhind Market Committee Chairman Gurwinder Singh Dhillon. They said that with Dhillon’s intervention, the bribe money was returned.
Sources claimed the incident was the result of an ongoing tussle between the chairman and the MLA, Fatehgarh Sahib.
