The controversy surrounding the Jhuriwala dumping ground fails to die down amid the election fervour. Congress candidate Chander Mohan’s son Abhishek, who has been campaigning for his father, today submitted a complaint to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Yash Garg, demanding an end to the illegal construction in the Jhuriwala forest area.

Siddharth Bishnoi submitted a letter to the DC, on behalf of his father, seeking compliance of the orders of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) — to restore the forest area to its earlier condition.

In his letter, Chander Mohan said, “...Illegal construction in the Jhuriwala forest area is in violation of the National Green Tribunal’s order dated November 15, 2022. This construction is being carried out by the Panchkula Municipal Corporation.”
