Chander Mohan rolls out 121-point manifesto for Panchkula district
In his efforts to turn the tables on the opposition parties, Congress candidate Chander Mohan today released a 121-point manifesto assuring development and changes across the Panchkula constituency that includes improving sanitation, providing health facilities, making commuting easier, facilities for women and bringing more industry in the segment.
Addressing mediapersons in Ramgarh today, Chander Mohan said he wants to provide better facilities to each and every resident of Panchkula district.
Besides highlighting promises of the Congress for Haryana at the press conference, Chander Mohan assured residents to provide relief from decades’ old issues, including garbage accumulation in Jhuriwala forest area which was turned into a dumping ground by the municipal corporation, the housefly menace in Barwala and everlasting problem of stray animals roaming across the constituency.
While the work of metro project slated to connect Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula is yet to begin, Chander Mohan assured to provide metro connectivity till Barwala. Chander Mohan said if elected to Assembly, he would ensure that Panchkula had a cyber hub on the lines of Gurugram, free bus service would be provided for individuals above 60 years and a 100-bed multi-specialty hospital would be constructed in Barwala.
Chander Mohan said, “I want to set up a garbage processing unit outside residential areas across the Ghaggar river. Development of villages will be ensured. Ambulances will be available to ferry patients to hospitals. Farmers will get payment within 48 hours of procurement of their crops. Water supply will be streamlined. Link roads and streets will be repaired and reconstructed. Each village will have a sports park and stadium. Besides, CCTV cameras will be installed at the entry and exit points of villages. Barwala will be made a sub-division.”
The former Deputy Chief Minister said alternate routes must be provided to ensure smooth flow of traffic between Chandigarh and Panchkula. He said, “Liquor shops will be shifted from residential areas. Free Wi-Fi services will be provided to residents. We will setup modern car washing stations in the constituency. Wastewater will be recycled and used for other purposes.”
Chander Mohan also assured investigation of irregularities in the Panchkula Municipal Corporation. He said strict action would be taken against contractors violating the law. He was joined by his son Abhishek Bishnoi during the press conference. Bishnoi said his father was a good listener and would be available for residents throughout the day.
