Chandigarh, June 19
The UT Administration has extended the date for mandatory installation of solar photovoltaic (SPV) power plant till March 31, 2021.
A spokesperson for the UT said the extension was given for existing residential and non-residential buildings. It is last extension, he added. No further extension would be granted beyond March 31, 2021 and strict action could be taken against persons failing to comply with the UT building bye-laws, he said.
Earlier, the Administration had approved a scheme for the installation of SPV power plants on residential sector rooftops under RESCO mode, in which residents of Chandigarh, who had connected load of 5kWp or more, were eligible irrespective of their plot size.
With the approval of this scheme, the SPV power plant will be installed with zero investment of beneficiaries. The project will be transferred to beneficiaries without any charges after a period of around 15 years. — TNS
