Chandigarh Administration plans another old-age home at Indira Holiday Home

The UT Administration is mulling over setting up an old-age home with palliative care at Indira Holiday Home in Sector 24 here.

During a meeting with the representatives of various organisations, UT Adviser Manoj Parida said they planned to convert Indira Holiday Home into an old age home with palliative care.

The Department of Social Welfare and Women and Child Development, has invited expression of interest in this regard. Recently, Satya Pal Jain, chairman, Social Welfare Committee of the UT Administrator’s Advisory Council, had recommended the Administration to examine the setting up of another senior citizens home on the premises of Indira Holiday Home. Jain had stated that there were 14 big and small rooms where around 100 people could be adjusted easily. — TNS
