Chandigarh, December 28

Around 76,000 children between the age of 15 and 18 years are eligible for the Covid vaccine in Chandigarh.

The UT will start administering Covaxin to the eligible children from January 3, said UT Health Secretary Yashpal Garg.

The sites where children are to be administered Covid vaccine will be finalised soon, he said. There will be separate sites for the vaccination of children. From January 10, all healthcare workers (HCWs), frontline workers (FLWs) and elderly persons with comorbidities can also receive the precautionary dose.

To be eligible for the precautionary dose, senior citizens with specified comordibities, HCWs and FLWs should have an interval of at least 9 months from the date of second dose. — TNS
