Chandigarh, May 10
The UT Administration has written to the Panjab University authorities to handover two hostels for making isolation centres. Uma Shankar Gupta, Nodal Officer Covid Management Plan, has asked the PU Registrar to handover two hostel no. 8 and no.9.
“Hotel no. 8 and 9 were handed over to the PU authorities subject to condition that in case these facilities will be required in future for Covid Care Centre, the possession will be handed over back to the UT Administration within 24 hours. In view of the recent surge, the UT Administration has now decided to take back the possession of both hostels as it may be required for isolation purpose of Covid patients. The authorities concerned should direct the respective wardens to handover these facilities,” say the orders.
