On account of Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti, the UT Administration has declared a public holiday in the city on Wednesday (February 12). Earlier, a restricted holiday was declared, but now a public holiday will be observed in all government offices, boards, corporations and institutions, including industrial establishments, under the UT Administration

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
