A few years back I had gone to Shimla with my parents. On our way back to Ludhiana when we entered Chandigarh, seeing its wide green roads I wished I could drive on these roads.

And God granted my wish. Couple of years back, I came to Chandigarh for my master’s degree and have been living in the City Beautiful ever since. Of course, my dream of driving on its roads has become a reality now.

My home town Ludhiana, no doubt, has it all, but Chandigarh is a different entity altogether. Every morning as I swirl around one of its roundabouts, I feel this city’s magical vibes. With its colour-laden trees and flamboyant air, Chandigarh needs no banner to proclaim about its beauty, because it shouts for itself: "Hey, you are in the City Beautiful."

The city is like a microcosm of India — from its people to food, a beautiful blend of Pan-India culture and flavours is evident here. I have made friends here who are from Ladakh, the Northeast, West Bengal and many other states.

However exhausted I may be, the city rejuvenates me every time I step into its divine environs.
