Chandigarh announces seven new containment zones

Chandigarh administration announced seven new containment zones on Wednesday.

Under Section 26 of the Disaster Management Act, UT, Chandigarh declared Parts of Sector-18, Sector-20, Sector-21, Sector-30, Sector-48 (GBS & DC Society), and Ramdarbhar Phase-11, as containment zones.

The UT administration has also instructed regular screening and monitoring of the areas by medical teams.

Frequent sanitisation of the area is a must. Residents are advised to strictly maintain social distancing norms, wear masks, and follow hand hygiene.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
