Chandigarh boxers shine at Khelo India

Harsh won gold, while Anshika Dabas and Nidhi Dhull won a silver medal each.

Local boxers shone in the ongoing Khelo India Youth Games in Bihar by winning four medals. Harsh won gold, while Anshika Dabas and Nidhi Dhull won a silver medal each.

In the 50-55kg category, Harsh defeated Tikam Del to win the top honour and in the 80kg category, Anshika won the silver medal. Both are trained by coach Dr Bhagwant Singh at the Sector 42 boxing centre and represent PML SD School, Sector 32.

Gurseerat Kaur, who is also coached by Dr Bhagwant, claimed bronze medal in the + 80kg event. She is a student of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Senior Secondary School, Sector 35. In the 70kg event, Nidhi Dhull, who is a student of Sector 32 school, won the silver medal. She is trained by Coach Virender Dangi.

Competing against the best young athletes from across India, the students of PMLSD Public School demonstrated exceptional skill, discipline and sportsmanship, said school chairman-cum-manager KK Sharma. Principal Monica Sharma and Physical Education Teacher-cum-boxing in-charge Pandit Shikha also congratulated the boxers.
