Chandigarh, January 23

After several days, the city got little respite from chill as sun came out for some part of the day on Tuesday even as cold weather conditions persisted.

12 flights cancelled, 16 delayed

  • Twelve flights were on Tuesday cancelled and 16 delayed due to various reasons, including low visibility
  • Early morning departures to Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and arrival from Pune were cancelled
  • In the evening, Ahmedabad, Pune and Jaipur departures and arrivals from Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad were cancelled

The maximum temperature rose to 13°C from 11.2°C yesterday. It was still five degrees Celsius below normal. It is expected to further rise over the next five days. The minimum temperature on Tuesday was 6°C, one degree Celsius below normal.

The city also witnessed moderate to dense fog during the morning and evening hours. It is expected to see mainly clear sky with moderate to dense fog for three days. Following which, mainly clear sky is likely on January 27 and 28.
