The Nayagaon DSP said the incident took place around 1 am on Thursday when constable Sikander Singh, who is posted at a police post at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, was having a party at his residence in Shivalik Vihar where his brother-in-law Ankit was also present. His brother-in-law took away Sikander’s car. After sometime, Sikander called him and asked him to return his car. They both had a verbal spat and abused each other on phone.

After the verbal spat, Sikander went to the parking area where Ankit’s car was parked. The cop smashed the windowpanes of Ankit’s car and fired a shot from his licensed pistol at his car and informed his brother-in-law that he had committed the act. — TNS
