Chandigarh crossed the 11,000 mark with 244 fresh COVID-19 cases on Friday. The total number of cases stands at 11,212 now. 

The city reported one death today that of a 55-year-old woman from Sector 56, who was suffering from diabetes and hypertension. 

For the third day in a row, Chandigarh saw more recoveries than number of positive cases, as 335 persons were discharged today. 

As many as 8,677 persons have beaten the virus.

Mani Majra continues to remain a hot spot as maximum of 24 cases were reported today from there. There are active 2,390 cases in the city at present.

With today’s death, the toll has risen to 145.
