To facilitate coordinated redressal of matters requiring joint action, the Deputy Commissioner and the Senior Superintendent of Police will conduct a joint public hearing every Friday from 11 am to 12 noon at the DC office in Sector 17. On July 11, the public hearing will be held in the Committee Room.

Residents flag waterlogging

The Residents Welfare Association (RWA), Modern Housing Complex, Sector 13, has raised the issue of waterlogging at the railway underbridge (RUB) in the area with the UT Chief Engineer. In a letter to the official, RWA president Col Gursewak Singh (retd) stated that the persistent issue caused significant hardship for pedestrians, especially during monsoon, and needed to be resolved on priority. Despite repeated representations to officials over the years, the problem remains unresolved, he said.

Mobile app for street vendors

To promote ease of doing business for registered street vendors in the city, Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla and MC Commissioner Amit Kumar today launched Street Vendor Mobile App and Vendor Cell Web Portal of the civic body. The Mayor said the mobile application, available on Android, enabled registered vendors to pay fees online. Monthly vending charges, ID card, challan, registration and renewal fees can now be paid on the app.

CGA donates Rs 5L to relief fund

The Chandigarh Golf Association (CGA) donated a sum of Rs 5 lakh for the PM’s National Relief Fund. The cheque was presented to Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria by RK Pachnanda, president of the association.

Minerva Academy FC made it to the pre-quarterfinals of the Helsinki Cup-2025 by defeating Finland's GrIFK 7-0 in the Round of 32. From the beginning of the match, Minerva took control of the game. Raj scored a brilliant hat-trick. Chetan also scored a powerful goal. The side has played five matches in the tournament so far and scored an incredible 31 goals while conceding none.
