Chandigarh eves beat MP in circle kabaddi tourney
They defeated Madhya Pradesh 31-11 in the tournament opener
Chandigarh women started their campaign at the 32nd National Men’s and Women’s Circle Kabaddi Championship with a convincing victory. They defeated Madhya Pradesh 31-11 in the tournament opener. The meet is being organised on the Panjab University campus.
In other matches, Punjab posted a 22-17 win over Madhya Pradesh. The men’s team of Punjab also got better of Madhya Pradesh 17-12.
The event, which is being organised by the Amateur Circle Kabaddi Federation of India, was inaugurated by former Chandigarh MP and Additional Solicitor General of India Satya Pal Jain and PU Vice-Chancellor Renu Vig. Davesh Moudgil, a former Chandigarh Mayor and president of the Amateur Circle Kabaddi Federation of India, addressed the players.
Jain said sports inculcated discipline, self-confidence and a sense of pride among the youth. Players from Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Assam are taking part in the meet.
