Chandigarh, October 11
For faster delivery of services, the UT Estate Office has made four more services available online.
In the first phase, UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit had launched the website and five online services of Estate Office on September 28, while in the second phase, four more services were made available to the residents.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-Estate Officer Mandip Singh Brar said, “We are going as per schedule. Residents can avail these four services at a click of the mouse from tomorrow.”
He, however, said the remaining services of the Estate Office would also be made available online from October 20-21. Meanwhile, the DC today handed over the transfer certificates to the applicants, who had applied online for the transfer of property, sales deed, etc. Their applications were processed by the office as per the new online system.
Appreciating the process adopted by the Estate Office, city resident Anil Khattar said he had applied for transfer of industrial property online on October 5 and the certificate was handed over to him today.
Khattar said he was surprised to get a call from the Estate Office that his certificate was ready and he could collect it anytime. He said such initiatives would help the UT become a true Smart City.
Expressing similar views, Sant Lal, a retired headmaster, said he had applied for transfer of property on October 6 and he was astonished to get the certificate within five days. “The online services launched by the Estate Office will bring in transparency, weed out corruption,” he said.
