Chandigarh, April 18

An all-round performance by local eves helped Chandigarh defeat Karnataka by six wickets in the Women’s Senior T20 league played at Rajkot today.

Earlier, Karnataka skipper Veda Krishnamurthy won the toss and opted to bat first. Unbeaten Nikki Prasad (26) was the top scorer for the side. Chandigarh skipper Amanjot Kaur (3/7) and Rajni Devi (3/31) claimed a majority of wickets, while Nandini Sharma (2/18), Kashvee Gautam (1/23) and Priyanka Guleria (1/0) were the performers for the bowling side. In reply, Chandigarh chased down the target in the 17th over for the loss of four wickets. Amanjot (19), Parushi Prabhakar (16) and Monika Pandey (13) helped the side achieve an easy target. S Shubha claimed two wickets. —
