The Vyapari Ekta Manch has announced to completely shut the Industrial Area on September 12 and 13 in protest against issuance of misuse and violation notices.

The front stated that traders would gather with their luxury cars to beg for the cancellation of the notices on September 12. Traders from all over the city would come together for their collective interests.

On September 13, they would approach the Chandigarh Administration with the collected alms and the notices, pleading for their cancellation. The Administration will be urged to revoke the notices ‘using the amount collected through these alms’.

“If the Administration does not agree, all traders will symbolically hand over the keys to their business premises and vow to leave Chandigarh,” stated the manch.

The industrialists claimed that the Administration was continuously harassing them by issuing misuse and violation notices, making it difficult to run business.

It is pertinent to mention here that industrialists have already met Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria over the issue.

On August 29, they protested at Tribune Chowk against the Administration and the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding their demands, claiming that many of their grievances had remained unresolved for the past 15 years.
